My husband saw a commercial on TV about these prepaid credit cards that allow you to transfer money onto them and spend the money on the card as you would a Visa card. You can even have your funds Direct Deposited on to the card, and you can also transfer money from your existing bank account to this RushCard account. Has anyone used this service? Does anyone know if it's ok to use if you're on SSI? I'm trying to decide if this is a viable option for us, and if anyone is at all familiar with this service, please let me know.

I looked at the website, and it doesn't give a lot of valid information as to how this is beneficial. If anyone wants to know more, go to http://www.rushcard.com.

I'd be very careful before getting such a thing. There are often hidden costs with these types of things such as a fee from your own bank every time you use it. I'd check with your bank or wherever you can get these cards and ask to know everything that is involved so there are no surprises after you start using it.

I would do the same thing. Take a look, ask questions, ask your bank. ETC.
